Modric to miss Real Madrid’s Spanish Super Cup semifinal
Real Madrid will be without Luka Modric in Thursday’s Spanish Super Cup semifinal clash with RCD Mallorca in Saudi Arabia after the midfielder fell ill.
“Our player Luka Modrić will be out for today’s match against RCD Mallorca due to a viral infection,” said the Spanish champion in a statement.
The Croatian midfielder, 39, became Madrid’s oldest goalscorer when he netted last week against Valencia in La Liga.
Barcelona beat Athletic Bilbao in the first semifinal on Wednesday to reach Sunday’s final in Jeddah.
