IND-W vs IRE-W, 1st ODI: Smriti Mandhana becomes second Indian batter to reach 4000 runs in W-ODIs
Smriti Mandhana reached 4000 runs in women’s ODIs in India’s first ODI against Ireland on January 10. In doing so, she became the 15th woman to cross the mark.
Mandhana, who is captaining India in the series as captain Harmanpreet Kaur is resting, reached the milestone in the ninth over, taking a single off Arlene Kelly to do so. Mandhana scored 41 runs from 29 deliveries in the match.
The ODI on Friday was her 95th appearance for India in ODIs.
Mandhana is second in the all-time list of run scorers in women’s ODIs for India, behind only Mithali Raj, who has 7805 runs. Raj and Mandhana are the only two players to have 4000 runs in women’s ODIs. She has 29 half-centuries and nine centuries for India in the format.
