Mohun Bagan vs East Bengal predicted XI, ISL 2024-25: Who can start the Kolkata Derby in MBSG v EBFC?

The second Indian Super League 2024-25 Kolkata Derby between Mohun Bagan Super Giant and East Bengal will take place at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday.

The fixture was shifted out of Kolkata, after the Bidhannagar Police, under whose jurisdiction the original match venue Salta Lake Stadium falls, cited concerns over inadequate security because of the Gangasagar Mela from January 10 to 18.

The Mariners, who lead the league table, will look to extend their dominant record over East Bengal, having won eight out of the nine encounters between the two teams in ISL history.

However, both sides will have big names missing the crucial match.

In the Mohun Bagan camp, head coach Jose Molina will not have the likes of Ashique Kuruniyan and Anirudh Thapa at his disposal. However, the return of the likes of Greg Stewart and Dimitrios Petratos to fitness could do the Spaniard a world of good.

As for Oscar Bruzon’s East Bengal, with Madih Talal out for the season with an ACL injury, midfielder Saul Crespo will also be an absentee. More recently, Anwar Ali has been ruled out of the clash as well.

Mohun Bagan: Kaith (gk), Rai, Aldred, Rodriguez, Bose, Sahal, Tangri, Suryavanshi, Liston, Stewart, Maclaren

East Bengal: Gill (gk), Lakra, Yuste, Maher, Lalchungnunga, Nandhakumar, Souvik, Jeakson, Mahesh, Cleiton, David
