Dinesh Karthik is set to become the first Indian to feature in the SA20 franchise league when he turns out for Paarl Royals against defending champion Sunrisers Eastern Cape at Boland Park on Saturday.
The Royals will be led by David Miller and includes international stars such as Joe Root, Lungi Ngidi and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
The third season of the SA20 will be Karthik’s first tournament since he announced his retirement from Indian cricket in June last year. The retirement enabled his participation in SA20 since only retired Indian players are allowed to play in overseas franchise leagues.
