I-League 2024/25: 10-man Real Kashmir draws 2-2 against Sreenidi Deccan

Despite being reduced to 10 men in the opening minute of the match, Real Kashmir FC gritted out a 2-2 draw against Sreenidhi Deccan FC in the I-League in Srinagar on Tuesday.

The home side’s Cameroonian defender Aminou Bouba was shown the red card in less than a minute for a foul inside the penalty area. Faysal Shayesteh converted from the spot to hand the visitor the lead.

Just two minutes later, Lalramsanga assisted Cezar from a corner, and the latter’s headed finish restored parity. Sreenidi Deccan regained the lead in the 15th minute with Angel Orelien fiding himself with space to unleash a fierce shot.

Real Kashmir was once again swift in responding and Muhammad Hammad’s freekick beat the visiting custodian in the 22nd minute.

The draw meant Real Kashmir occupied the eighth spot in the table with 10 points from eight games. Sreenidi Deccan, on the other hand, had the same number of points after playing an identical number of matches but remained ninth spot because of an inferior goal difference.

In another match in Margao, Gokulam Kerala FC beat Dempo Sports Club 1-0 with Abhijith K scoring the all-important goal in the 86th minute.

Gokulam is now unbeaten in five matches and climbed to second on the table. Dempo, meanwhile, continued its poor run of form, as it lost its fourth match on the trot.
