ISL 2024-25: Resurgent Blasters look to continue its good run against NorthEast United
The makeshift coaching team of T.G. Purushothaman and Tomasz Tchorz have managed to resurrect the fortunes of Kerala Blasters in the ongoing season.
The resurgent Kerala Blasters, which has won the last three matches out of the four it played under the new coaches, will be keen to continue the good run when it plays NorthEast United FC in the Indian Super League on Saturday.
However, the last-gasp win against Odisha FC exposed the inherent weakness of the squad. The defence is still shaky and goalkeeping errors are mounting.
Despite dominating possession against Odisha, the Blasters lacked the killer punch upfront till a three-goal blitz in the second half swung the match in its favour. Noah Sadaoui’s goals have been pivotal for the team’s success in the last few matches but the striker was also guilty of some glaring misses. Captain Adrian Luna came up with a lion-hearted performance in the midfield and will again hold the aces against NorthEast United.
NorthEast United, which is currently unbeaten in its last five matches, will be more threatening than the passive Odisha side which blundered by trying to preserve its early lead in the last match against Blasters.
Inform striker Alaaeddin Ajaraie will be more than a handful for the Blasters defence. Coach Juan Pedro Benali predicted a tough match against Blasters which has momentum in its favour. Juan wanted his boys to stick to their game plan to come out unscathed against Blasters.
