Dragon release date pushed due to Vidaamuyarchi, Will clash with Neek

Dragon release date pushed due to Vidaamuyarchi, Will clash with Neek

Following the rom-com fantasy Oh My Kadavulae (2020), writer, director Ashwath Marimuthu was gearing up for another Valentine’s day release this year with Dragon. Over the weekend, Ashwath Marimuthu took to his official X page to announce that the Dragon release date is February 21, 2025, and that his film’s release is pushed to avoid a box-office clash with Ajith’s Vidaamuyarchi

After production and other delays, Vidaamuyarchi is finally releasing on February 6, 2025. The Ajith starrer’s release date has caused multiple smaller films to re-shuffle their release plans in Tamil cinema. The domino effect of Vidaamuyarchi release date being finalized at the last minute, has now caused a box-office clash between Dragon and Nilavuku En mel Ennadi Kobam (Neek) directed by Dhanush.

Ashwath Marimuthu’s statement on Dragon‘s release date postponement read, “With all love and respect towards Ajith sir , his fans and team #vidamuyarchi we are gracefully pushing our film by a week to feb 21st ♥️ we ll use this extra one week to better our product and promote the film well ! Leaving the rest to audience 🤗 “

An AGS Entertainment production, Dragon stars Pradeep Ranganathan as Ragavan “Dragon” Dhanapal, and Anupama Parameswaran as Keerthi, his love interest. The movie has Leon James for music, and its story is jointly written by Pradeep Ranganathan and Ashwath Marimuthu. The post theatrical OTT rights of Dragon is with the Netflix streaming platform.
