Sportstar Sports Conclave – Focus Bihar: Day-long event in Patna to bring together Indian sporting icons
The Sportstar Conclave caravan’s third edition will move to Patna for the first-ever Focus Bihar Conclave, set to take place in the capital city on Friday.
A host of speakers will discuss key issues pertaining to the sports ecosystem in the region.
Olympic bronze medal-winning boxer Vijender Singh, double-Paralympic medal-winning athlete Sharad Kumar, former Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) chief Deepa Malik, All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Kalyan Chaubey, and Indian women’s hockey team head coach Harendra Singh will headline the event.
B. Rajender, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Sports, Government of Bihar, and Raveendran Sankaran, Director General and CEO, Bihar State Sports Authority, are also among the esteemed panellists in this conclave.
Veteran Winter Olympian Shiva Keshavan, former Athletics Federation of India (AFI) chief Adille Sumariwalla and shuttler Aditi Mutatkar are some of the other speakers at the event.
The conclave will also include a panel discussion on Bihar’s role in championing India’s e-sports revolution. The session will feature Nishi Kant (Chief Design & Product at JetSynthesys) and Akshat Rathee (Co-Founder, NODWIN Gaming) in conversation with Abhishek Issar (Founder, UNIV Sportatech & Co-Founder, Federation of ESports India)
Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Samrat Chaudhary, will inaugurate the day-long conclave and deliver the opening address. The Honourable Chief Minister of the State, Nitish Kumar, will deliver the closing remarks.
Two awards – Unsung Champion (Lifetime Achievement Award for a sporting veteran) and Young Achiever (to a promising athlete under 18 years of age) – will also be presented.
The Sportstar Focus Bihar Conclave is presented by the Bihar State Sports Authority and the Department of Sports, Government of Bihar.
