The Inspiring Birthday Gift: D. Imman Donates His Body for Health Awareness
Renowned music composer D. Imman celebrated his birthday in a special way by donating his body organs. Though the donation occurred two days prior, he announced it on his birthday. Imman, known for his contributions to Tamil cinema and as a judge on Vijay TV’s “Super Singer,” also actively participates in social causes.
Imman shared his thoughts on organ donation, saying, “I wanted my body to be useful even after my death and bring light to others’ lives. This idea has been in my mind for a long time. I felt now was the right moment, so I officially donated all my organs, including my eyes, heart, and lungs, and obtained a donor card a couple of days ago. I deliberately chose to announce it on my birthday for significance.”
He emphasized the importance of healthy individuals making organ donation plans in advance. “Many people wish to donate during their final moments, but due to circumstances, it’s not always feasible. During critical times or accidents, people are more focused on saving lives than thinking about organ donation. It’s crucial to pre-plan during healthy times. A donor must notify the hospital within six hours of death, but one hour is ideal to preserve organs like the eyes, heart, and lungs,” said Imman.
Imman revealed his family’s support, noting, “My wife has also donated her organs after seeing me do it. Now, even our relatives feel inspired to consider organ donation.” His efforts have sparked positivity, spreading awareness about organ donation among many.
Imman’s act is not just a personal endeavor but a beacon for others to follow, marking his birthday with a selfless contribution to society.
