Novak Djokovic pulls out of Serbia’s Davis Cup tie against Denmark

Novak Djokovic will miss Serbia’s Davis Cup Qualifiers first-round match against Denmark, scheduled from January 31 to February 2.

Djokovic retired in the Australian Open semifinal due to a hamstring injury after losing the opening set to Alexander Zverev.

The Serb, who has won 10 titles at Melbourne Park and is chasing a record 25th Grand Slam crown, sustained the injury in his quarterfinal win over Carlos Alcaraz.

“It’s not like I’m worrying approaching every Grand Slam now whether I’m going to get injured or not, but statistics are against me in a way in the last couple of years,” he told reporters after retiring.

“So it is true that (I am) getting injured quite a bit the last few years. I don’t know what exactly is the reason for that. Maybe several different factors. But I’ll keep going. You know, I’ll keep striving to win more Slams. And as long as I feel that I want to put up with all of this, I’ll be around,” he added.
