Ranji Trophy: Virat Kohli poses with ground staff at Arun Jaitley Stadium after Delhi thrashes Railways

Virat Kohli posed for photographs with ground and security staff of the Arun Jaitley Stadium after his team, Delhi, defeated Railways in the Ranji Trophy fixture on Saturday.

Despite ending its campaign with an innings and 19-run win in the match, Delhi bowed out of the tournament after only managing 21 points in seven matches and failing a top two finish in the group D.

Kohli, who returned to play for his domestic side after more than 12 years, however failed to contribute much with the bat as he could only manage six runs off 15 balls. Delhi didn’t have to bat in the second innings.

As soon as the game ended on day three, Kohli was surrounded by the officials and staff members of the ground in order to shake hands and get clicked with the former Indian captain. Players from both teams too clicked photographs with Kohli.

The Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) on Friday had felicitated Kohli for completing 100 Test matches, a feat he completed in 2022.

The 36-year-old’s return to domestic cricket also saw over 10,000 people attending the match on the first two days. The match also saw pitch invaders, on two occasions, running to meet Kohli on the field.
