La Liga 2024-25: Real Madrid loses to Espanyol, drops points in title race
League leader Real Madrid was dealt with a shock defeat away from home after Espanyol enjoyed a 1-0 victory at the RCDE Stadium in Barcelona on Saturday.
Carlos Romero’s 85th minute strike helped Espanyol come out of the drop zone and jump to 17th place on the points table.
On the other hand, Madrid continues to remain on top, but finds its lead at the apex reduced to just a single point after Atletico Madrid beat Mallorca 2-0.
