Hyderabad Cricket Association felicitates members of India’s U-19 T20 World Cup team

G. Trisha, who was named both ‘Player of the Tournament’ and ‘Player of the Final’ in the recent Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup— won by India in Kuala Lumpur — arrived in Hyderabad on Tuesday morning to a warm reception. She was accompanied by head coach Nooshin Al Khadeer and other team members.

Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) president A. Jagan Mohan Rao welcomed and felicitated the players for their “magnificent and inspirational achievements.” Among those who arrived alongside Trisha were Team India member Dhruthi and trainer Shalini.

The HCA president expressed hope that Trisha’s success story would inspire more young girls to take up cricket and sports in general with greater passion and commitment. “It is also significant that Nooshin, the coach of this triumphant team, hails from Hyderabad,” he added.

He further announced that the HCA would soon organise a formal felicitation ceremony to honour the players and support staff.

Trisha thanked the HCA president for his kind gesture and pledged to continue bringing laurels to the country. “I am proud to have been part of the Indian team that has now won the U-19 World Cup twice. This victory is particularly special as I was able to contribute significantly to the team’s success,” she said.

She also expressed gratitude to the national team’s support staff and her mentors, including K. John Manoj, former Ranji cricketer Anoop Pai, and coaches Srinivas, both of whom were associated with St John’s Coaching Foundation — now known as Coaching Beyond — in Hyderabad.
