Pawan Kalyan Slams Tamil Nadu Politicians For ‘Opposing Hindi But Cashing In On Dubbed Films’ – Gets BJP Leader’s Support

Pawan Kalyan Slams Tamil Nadu Politicians For ‘Opposing Hindi But Cashing In On Dubbed Films’ – Gets BJP Leader’s Support

Pawan Kalyan has reignited the language debate by calling out Tamil Nadu politicians for what he sees as double standards on Hindi. The Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister questioned why Tamil leaders oppose Hindi but still profit from dubbing their films in the language.

Speaking at his party’s 12th foundation day in Pithampuram, Kalyan criticised Tamil Nadu politicians for rejecting Hindi while benefiting financially from Bollywood’s reach.

He said, “I do not understand why some criticise Sanskrit. Why do Tamil Nadu politicians oppose Hindi while allowing their movies to be dubbed in Hindi for financial gain? They want money from Bollywood but refuse to accept Hindi—what kind of logic is that?”

His remarks have sparked strong reactions. BJP leader Vikram Randhawa backed Kalyan and said that Hindi is the national language and must be promoted across India.

“Hindi is our national language, and the government is working to ensure it reaches the masses. Unfortunately, previous governments tried to suppress the culture of nationalism. The use of Hindi should be implemented strongly in the South as well,” Randhawa said.

He also agreed with Kalyan’s views, pointing out that South Indian filmmakers make huge profits from dubbing their films in Hindi but resist adopting the language themselves.

He added, “People in South India earn crores of rupees from North India by dubbing movies in Hindi. But when it comes to speaking and teaching Hindi, they have problems.”

Kalyan’s statement comes amid an ongoing debate over language policies in Tamil Nadu. Chief Minister MK Stalin has repeatedly accused the Union government of pushing ‘Hindi imposition’ in the state. His party, the DMK, has strongly opposed the National Education Policy (NEP) and its three-language formula, arguing that Tamil should remain the dominant language in the state’s education system.

The issue of language politics has long been sensitive in Tamil Nadu. The state has historically rejected efforts to impose Hindi, citing concerns over cultural identity and linguistic diversity.
