STR 51: Another Manmadhan type role for Silambarasan TR

STR 51 (tentative title) is actor Silambarasan TR’s upcoming movie with Oh My Kadavule (2020), Dragon (2025) director Ashwath Marimuthu. STR 51 is a fantasy commercial entertainer, that is scheduled to release in Summer, 2026. 

Silambarasan TR plays a ‘God of Love’ character, and while promoting his February 21 release Dragon, Ashwath Marimuthu has said that Simbu’s role is more Mamadhan (2004) type as opposed to the actual God of love, which is cupid. 

Talking to ‘The Hindustan Times’, Aswath Marimuthu has said, “Simbu’s film will be very different from ‘Oh My Kadavule’ and ‘Dragon’. STR 51 is a fantasy film where Simbu plays the God of Love. He is not Cupid but plays Manmadhan. The movie is a blend of fantasy, and the story that I want to narrate. Silambarasan’s character has shades of grey. When you watch the film, you’ll understand,”
