Saudi Pro League 2024-25: Jhon Duran scores brace in Al-Nassr colours on league debut

Colombian forward Jhon Duran scored a brace for Al-Nassr during the side’s Saudi Pro League 2024-25 match against Al Feiha at the Al-Awwal Park on Friday.

This was the striker’s Saudi Pro League debut after Duran first appeared for his new club in the AFC Champions League against Al Wasl.

It was a moment of sloppy defending by the opposition backline which allowed Nassr to snatch the ball in the final third. Duran got the ball inside the box, used former Manchester United centre-back Chris Smalling as a shield, and curled it into the bottom right-corner with an excellent finish in the 22nd minute.

His second goal came exactly 50 minutes later when Sadio Mane curled the ball across the face of the goal and found the onrushing Colombian. Duran then chipped the ball away from the oncoming ‘keeper to nestle it into the net.

Duran debuted for Al-Nassr with a start against Wasl which saw the Saudi side come out with a dominating 4-0 win.

During the January transfer window, the 21-year-old player completed a move away from Premier League side Aston Villa and joined Nassr for a fee reported to be around 77 million euros.
