Coolie OTT rights bagged by Amazon Prime Video

If buzz in the industry is anything to go by, then the post-theatrical digital rights of Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie has been bagged by the Amazon Prime Video streaming platform for a record price of Rs. 120 Cr. Amazon Prime Video previously paid a staggering Rs. 100 Cr. for Rajinikanth’s Jailer in 2023.

Both Jailer and Coolie are production ventures of Sun Pictures, and their third film with Rajinikanth, Jailer 2, is also expected to make a record OTT deal with the Prime Video streaming platform. 

An action thriller, Coolie marks the debut collaboration of Rajinikanth with writer, director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The multi-starrer movie recently wrapped shooting, and is expected to set a release date in 2025.
