Retro team unveils new BTS video marking director Karthik Subbaraj’s birthday
Writer, director Karthik Subbaraj is a celebrated name in the Tamil film industry with acclaimed movies like Pizza (2012), Jigarthanda (2014), Iraivi (2016), Petta (2019), and Mahaan (2022) to his credit. Karthik Subbaraj is also a well known producer, and is known for launching talents like Rathna Kumar (Meyaadha Maan), Ashok Veerappan (Buffoon) among others.
Karthik Subbaraj celebrates his 42nd birthday on March 19, 2025. Marking the same, a new Retro BTS video has been unveiled, giving us glimpses of the director in action with Tamil star actor Suriya.
Retro is a gangster action drama on the lines of Mahaan, and the movie is a joint production venture of Karthik Subbaraj’s Stone Bench Films, and Suriya’s 2D Entertainment. Retro is scheduled to release in theaters on May 1, 2025.
