Thug Life: First single from Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, AR Rahman film gears up for release!
Thug Life starring Kamal Haasan in the lead is an upcoming Mani Ratnam movie with AR Rahman for music. The Tamil film which hints of a connection to Mani Ratnam, Kamal Haasan’s iconic debut film, Nayakan (1987), is all set to release in theaters on June 5, 2025.
On March 21, 2025, it was officially announced that the Thug Life first single is currently gearing up for release. A BTS video of Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam and AR Rahman from the recording session was released. In the video, Kamal Haasan is seen hinting the first single lyrics stating, “Pandhaluku Eesana Moola” (translates to North East corner for the shamiana).
Thug Life is a joint production venture of Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International, Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies, and Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies. The movie also stars Silambarasan TR, Trisha, Sanya Malhotra, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Joju George, Abhirami, Nassar, Chetan, among others.
