Paid premiere shows before a film’s release aren’t exactly a custom in India, though the Telugu film industry in South India has been taking steps to make it one. Restrictions surrounding film releases in Tamil Nadu are particularly conservative, and even first shows on release days typically start between 9 AM to 11 AM, despite world premieres happening much earlier between 5 AM – 7 AM globally.
