Anshul Jubli knocked out by Quillan Sakllid in 19 seconds at UFC 312
India’s Anshul Jubli’s return to the Octagon ended in disappointment as the MMA fighter from Uttarakhand suffered a brutal knockout in just 19 seconds at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on Sunday.
Competing in the early prelims of UFC 312, Jubli was up against local favourite Quillan Salkilld, who finished the bout with a single, clean punch.
The 35-year-old, fighting for the first time in over 470 days, could not withstand Salkilld’s early aggression. A powerful right hand sent Jubli crashing to the canvas, prompting the referee to step in and stop the contest instantly.
The decision sparked some controversy, with some questioning whether the stoppage was premature.
Jubli made his UFC debut in October 2023 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi but lost to Mike Breeden. He remains only the second Indian male fighter, after Bharat Khandare, to secure a UFC contract.
