In a recent interview, comedian-turned-actor Santhanam confirmed his role in the highly anticipated Tamil film STR49, starring Silambarasan TR (STR). Santhanam revealed that STR personally invited him to be part of the project, and he immediately agreed out of respect and gratitude.

“Yes, I’m part of STR49. Silambarasan TR asked me to act in the film. I can’t say no to STR,” Santhanam said. “I’m always grateful to him from the early days of my career.” He also shared that although he had committed to another project, he prioritized STR49, apologizing to the other producer and giving his dates to STR’s film.

Santhanam promised fans that both he and STR would appear in powerful and impactful roles, teasing a strong on-screen dynamic.

This film marks a reunion after nearly a decade, sparking excitement among fans who fondly remember their earlier collaborations. Directed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan, known for the critically acclaimed film Parking, STR49 is set in a college backdrop and promises to be a youthful, high-energy entertainer.
