Lakshya Sen then defeated Fong Pang Pui 21-16, 21-12 in the men’s singles.

In Sindhu’s absence, the responsibility of leading India’s women’s singles department fell on Malvika Bansod, and the 23-year-old rose to the occasion with a 21-15, 21-9 victory over Wai Hao Chan.

In the men’s doubles, the duo of M.R. Arjun and Chirag Shetty secured a 21-15, 21-9 win over Chon Chi Pui and Weng Kok Vong in just 25 minutes.

Ranked ninth in the world, the women’s doubles pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayathri Gopichand sealed the tie with a 21-10, 21-5 victory over Chi Weng Ng and Wa Chi Pui.
