Retro: Kanimaa alternate version video gears up for release
Retro starring Suriya, Pooja Hegde in the lead is out in theaters, raking up moolah at the box-office globally. Four days into the film’s release, writer, director, and co-producer Karthik Subbaraj has announced that a new video from Retro movie is all set to release.
The Retro album is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, and the music director had recently hinted of unveiling an alternate version of Retro‘s most viral hit – the Kanimaa song. On Sunday, Karthik Subbaraj confirmed that the Kanimaa alternate version will be releasing as a 1-minute video.
A joint production venture of Jyotika and Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, and Karthik Subbaraj’s Stone Bench Films, Retro is a period film that is thematically reminiscent of the Harry Potter (prophesized child, born with a scar, abandoned as an orphan for life-protection, raised by unwilling fosters, learns of being the ‘chosen one’, kills villain to free the masses from his clutches), and Thor: Ragnarok (unknown sister, hedonist villain enslaving people, a fighting cult, gladiator style fights, finding lost treasure) movies.
Retro also stars Joju George, Swasika, Jayaram, Nassar, Vidhu, Tamizh, Yamuna, Sabitha Roy, among others.
