Jonassen with the ball. Smriti with another FOUR, this time over the covers. Perry happy to rotate the strike with the high-flying Smriti. SIX! With that, Smriti enters her 80s!

Sutherland with the ball. Smriti pulls a shorter one towards mid wicket for a single. Smriti smashes it over the mid on fielders and hits it for a FOUR!

Jonassen with the ball. What was that? Sutherland and Lanning left ball watching as neither call for the catch and Perry survives!

Arundhati back. OUT! Jemimah gets the catch this time as Wyatt-Hodge has to walk back!

Kapp back. What a sound off the bat! Casually, with a turn, she sends Kapp’s ball flying over deep mid-wicket for a SIX! Another ball with no pace behind it and Wyatt-Hodge sends it over covers for a FOUR.

Jonassen with her second over. Smriti steps out and drives it to send the ball fizzing to the ropes for a FOUR! Another FOUR as the India vice-captain pulls it square! And that’s a well-made fifty for Smriti! DROPPED! Wyatt-Hodge sends it flying towards deep extra cover and Jemimah fluffs her catch!

Annabel Sutherland with her first over, and first ball sees a review taken for an lbw against Wyatt-Hodge. And there’s a thick edge. PULLED FOR A FOUR! Wyatt-Hodge hits it hard enough to beat a diving Jemimah and find the gap over at cow corner. Sublime timing from Smriti! A deft push towards cow corner, beating the fielders inside circle, for a FOUR!

Jess Jonassen with her first over. Wyatt-Hodge hits it just above the fielder inside the circle to score a FOUR over towards extra cover. Lucky, lucky, lucky! Smriti gets the slightest of edges which takes the ball past Bryce’s gloves and to fine third man for a FOUR!

Shikha with her third, and almost gets a wicket there. However, Wyatt-Hodge’s swing went over the short third man fielder and races for a FOUR! Quite a wide ball and the English batter sends it over point for another FOUR. Nine off it. A timeout has been taken. A much-needed one for Capitals.

Arundhati Reddy has been handed the ball for her first over in the match. SIX! Smriti sends the ball over somewhere between long off and extra cover for a maximum! Thirteen runs from it.

Shikha with her second over. A miscued shot from Wyatt-Hodge sees the ball slowly race towards the ropes. Jonassen and Sutherland, with a combined effort, tries to save it but it’s a FOUR! Well timed by the English batter plays it to backward point for a FOUR. A dot to end the over.

Minnu Mani with her first over. Smriti slogs it over mid wicket and finds the boundary for a FOUR! Another FOUR from Smriti as she sweeps a slightly wider ball towards square leg.

Shikha Pandey with her first over. Ball moving a lot as she shouts for an lbw appeal as Wyatt-Hodge misses the ball. No review taken. Good over from DC’s perspective.

Smriti Mandhana and Danni Wyatt-Hodge opening for RCB. Marizanne Kapp with the ball. Both batters open their accounts with singles. Shikha Pandey saves two runs over at fine leg. FOUR! Slightly shorter ball and Smriti pulls it across square for a boundary! Another ball wide down the leg stump and Smriti hits it fine for another FOUR! 

Garth in the last over. Slower ball, a wide down the leg stump for Minnu. Another slower one as Minnu comes down the crease but misses the ball. A single taken, though. OUT! That’s that from Capitals as Arundhati holes out to Perry.

Renuka bowling out in the penultimate over. OUT! Shikha tries to clear the fielders over point but fails to get enough power behind it.

Minnu Mani, the 11th player for DC, has come out to bat. And she flicks it off the leg stump for a FOUR!

Wareham bowling out. FOUR! Shikha steps out and swings big as the ball finds the gap over backward point. STUMPED! Bryce comes out of the crease but misses the ball. Easy task there for Richa to stump the Scottish batter.

Radha Yadav in the middle. Another OUT! Radha hits it straight back at Wareham and the bowler takes it!

Kanika continues. Batters now depending on running between the wickets for runs as the ball comes very slowly to the bat. Finally, a FOUR! Bryce dances down and slashes it through point for a boundary.

Joshitha with her second over. DROPPED! Smriti Mandhana was running to her left and had to dive to send Shikha back and fails to take it cleanly. Another over without a boundary.

Kanika Ahuja with her first over. Shikha tries to find the boundary towards mid wicket but cannot.

Ekta bowling out. Kanika saves the ball from piercing through the inside circle but there was confusion between the batters. A clean throw could have resulted in a run out there. Kapp gone! An unconvincing shot from the South African as sends the ball towards long off where Wyatt-Hodge takes a comfortable catch.

Wareham with her third, and almost takes a wicket! Kapp swept and an edge sent it straight to Kanika over at short fine leg, but the youngster fails to take it. No boundary in this over.

Ekta with her third over. AND OUT! It’s Jonassen whose weak shot towards short mid on to Kanika.

Scotland’s Sarah Bryce comes out to the middle. Good effort from Renuka over at long stop but the ball does touch the rope for a FOUR after Bryce’s cut gets an edge and goes past Richa.

Renuka back for her second spell. OUT! Renuka with another important wicket as Sutherland drives it to covers, straight to Smriti Mandhana there.

Ekta comes back into the attack. Dew has come into play as Wyatt-Hodge is seen wiping her hands on her shirt after finding it difficult to field at the boundary. SIX! Sutherland hits it over deep mid-wicket after not middling it well in the previous delivery. Fourteen runs off the over.

Wareham with her second over. Just singles from the over, five off it.

Garth with her second spell. Annabel Sutherland replaces Jemimah in the middle. OUT! Lanning has to walk back! It’s her compatriot Ellyse Perry who takes the catch after Lanning pulls it.

Georgia Wareham brought in. And first ball, almost gets Lanning lbw. FOUR! Jemimah makes space and slashes it down long off for a boundary. Stumping attempt made! Richa Ghosh is extremely confident of having caught Jemimah out of her crease. It goes upstairs. OUT! Jemimah seems to have frozen and forgotten to get her leg inside the crease on time.

Joshitha VJ comes in, replacing Garth. FOUR! After a wide from the young pacer, she sends in one that slightly moves away from the batter and Jemimah slashes it towards extra cover for a boundary. SIX! Jemimah slight bends the knee and pulls it across for a flat maximum! Misfield from Danni Wyatt-Hodge as Jemimah now finds the boundary at point for another FOUR! Time for a strategic break.

Ekta Bisht comes into the attack. Jemimah sweeps it for a single. SIX! Jemimah sends it over the covers for a maximum! Next ball, the India international tries to reverse sweep, misses, and so does Richa! A FOUR for DC. Direct hit from Smriti but Jemimah looks to have made her ground. Umpire reviews. NOT OUT.

Garth continues, Jemimah drives it to cover for a single. Deftly sent! Lanning keeps it late as she cuts it fine for a FOUR! Jemimah gets her first FOUR as she punches it down towards long off. 

Renuka with her second over. Richa Ghosh has come up to the stumps as the pacer looks for another scalp. But Lanning waits for the swing to come into play and cut it between the fielders towards third man for a FOUR! Another wide off Renuka’s spell. Another review taken. The ball seemed to have swung a lot but Richa Ghosh seems confident. Lanning waits. Ball going down leg as the batter stays on. And Lanning cuts it well once again and this time sends it backward point for a FOUR!

Kim Garth from the other end. First ball, and once again a shout for an lbw, this time against Lanning. Umpire says nothing. Brilliant bowling from Garth. Jemimah drives but the ball slightly moves into the batter and she misses the ball.

Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma opening for DC. Renuka Singh with the ball for RCB. GONE! Shafali tries to hit it over mid off but fails to time it well. Smriti Mandhana is there to send her India teammate back to the dugout for a golden duck.

Jemimah Rodrigues out in the middle. After a couple of wides, Renuka may have taken a second wicket! Jemimah awaits the decision of an lbw. NOT OUT! The impact is just outside the off stump and Jemimah stays on. 

In the regular league stage, Delhi Capitals has won all four meetings against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. However, RCB won the latest fixture between the two sides, which happened to be last year’s final.

Can RCB break its duck against DC and register its first-ever win against Meg Lanning’s side in the round robin stage?

Royal Challengers Bengaluru has won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Ekta Bisht comes in for Prema Rawat in RCB’s starting line-up. Marizanne Kapp and Jess Jonassen are into the line-up in place of Alice Capsey and Niki Prasad.

Pitch No. 7 is being used once again for tonight’s match.

“It’s a used surface, but no wear and tear. It’s going to skid and keep the ball a bit low. The teams which have batted first have started cautiously in the PowerPlay. After 8 pm, the dew factor has helped the sides score big in the middle overs,” Mithali Raj says.
