Champions League 2024-25: Which teams have qualified for round of 16?

On Wednesday, the final matchday of the knockout phase play-off of the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League took place, after which the top 16 teams were decided.

As per the new format, the top eight teams qualified for the Round of 16 directly, while sides placed ninth to 24th had to play two-legged playoffs to advance to the knockouts.

The top eight teams – namely Liverpool, Barcelona, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Lille, and Aston Villa – have earned a direct spot into the Round of 16.

As mentioned earlier, sides placed ninth to 24th had to play two-legged playoffs to advance to the knockouts. The seeded teams (ninth of 16th) played the second leg at home, according to the draw rules.

This league phase play-off was headlined by the mouth-watering clash between defending champions Real Madrid and Premier League champion Manchester City.
