ISL 2024-25: Ahmed Jahouh exits Odisha FC without explanation, club considers legal action
Moroccan midfielder Ahmed Jahouh has independently left the club without providing any explanation to club Odisha FC on Saturday.
The Indian Super League (ISL) club confirmed the news of the breach of contract on social media.
The 36-year-old exited without any prior notification or explanation, a move the club deems a serious violation of his contractual obligations.
In response to this unexpected departure, the club is currently evaluating appropriate legal and disciplinary actions.
On May 31, 2023, Jahouh agreed a two-year transfer to Odisha from Mumbai City FC to reunite with coach Sergio Lobera. This was his fourth reunion with Lobera, having also played under him for Moroccan club Moghreb Tetouan, before FC Goa and Mumbai City.
He became the first Moroccan footballer to play in India when he joined the ISL side Goa on a season-long loan on August 2, 2017.
The midfielder has represented his country in nine international matches at senior level.
The Juggernauts are currently seventh in the ISL 2024-25 table and are battling to get into the ISL Cup playoffs by finishing in the top six.
Odisha travels to Kolkata to face Mohun Bagan Super Giant, which is looking to clinch the League Shield with a win, on Sunday.
