IND vs PAK, Champions Trophy 2025: Shami bowls the joint-longest over by an Indian in ODIs

Mohammed Shami on Sunday registered the unwanted record of bowling the joint-longest over by an Indian in One-Day Internationals during the team’s Champions Trophy match against Pakistan in Dubai.

Operating with the new ball, Shami sent down an 11-ball over to Imam-ul-Haq, conceding six runs. Five of those came from wides as he struggled to control his swing and maintain his line.

He became the third Indian to bowl an 11-ball over in ODIs, following Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan. Zaheer has also bowled 10-ball overs on six occasions.

Shami’s over was also the third-longest in ICC Champions Trophy history. Bangladesh’s Hassibul Hossain and Zimbabwe’s Tinashe Panyangara hold the record for the longest overs in the competition, having each bowled 13-ball overs.
