ISL 2024-25: All records broken by Mohun Bagan Super Giant on its way to defending Shield

Mohun Bagan Super Giant defended its Indian Super League (ISL) Shield after beating Odisha FC 1-0 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan on Sunday.

Dimitrios Petratos scored in second-half additional time to bag all three points as the Mariners bagged their 16th win of the ISL 2024-25 season.

Mohun Bagan has been ruthless this season and has broken several records on its way to defending their Shield. Following are the records that the Mariners broke on their road to victory.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant became the first team to breach the 50-point mark in ISL history after winning 16, drawing four and losing just two matches in 22 appearances.

With the win against Odisha, Mohun Bagan clinched its 16th victory of the season, which is the most by any team in the competition’s history.

With two fixtures remaining against Mumbai City and FC Goa, the Mariners can add to this tally and can reach a best figure of 18 wins in 24 matches (a win percentage of 75).

Mohun Bagan has won nine times at home this season, which is the highest in ISL history. It can take its tally to 10 if it beats FC Goa in its last home match of the ISL group stage.

Out of the 43 goals scored by Mohun Bagan in the ISL till now, 20 of them have come from set-pieces, which is the highest in the competition’s history.

Like its attack, Mohun Bagan’s defence has shone this season and equally contributed towards defending the Shield. The Mariners have kept 14 clean sheets till now.

This stat helped Vishal Kaith achieve the milestone of recording 50 clean sheets in the Indian Super League (ISL), making him the first goalkeeper in the league’s history to reach this number.

Mohun Bagan’s astute defending resulted in it not conceding a goal for 570 minutes, which is the highest any team has ever gone without conceding.
