FIH Pro League 2024-25 Points Table: Indian men placed third, women sixth after Bhubaneswar leg

Indian men’s hockey team was at the third spot while the women’s side was placed sixth in the FIH Pro League 2024-25 points table at the end of the Bhubaneswar leg on Tuesday.

Led by Harmanpreet Singh, the men’s team played a total of eight matches against Spain, Germany, Ireland and England. The side, coached by Craig Fulton, finished the home leg on 15 points with five wins and three defeats. England and Belgium both are ahead of India with 16 points.

In the women’s competition, Salima Tete-led team played its eight games against England, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands. Harendra Singh’s side amassed nine points after two wins, two draws and four defeats. The women gained a bonus point courtesy a shootout win over the Dutch side.

The winner of the FIH Pro League 2024-25 earns direct qualification to World Cup 2026. The bottom-placed team gets relegated and is replaced by the winner of the FIH Nations Cup.

The Indian men’s team will play its remaining matches against the Netherlands, Argentina, Australia and Belgium in the European leg which will take place in Amstelveen and Antwerp in June.

The women’s side will be up against Australia, Argentina, Belgium and China in the European leg which will take place in London, Antwerp and Berlin in June.
