WTT Star Contender Chennai: Manav Thakkar-Manush Shah duo top seed in men’s doubles
Five Indian pairs have been seeded in the doubles (men’s, women’s & mixed) section of the WTT Star Contender table tennis tournament to be held in Chennai, set to be held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium from March 25 to 30..
The duo of Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah is seeded No. 1 in men’s doubles and is the lone Indian pair (among the eight) according to the seedings list released by World Table Tennis on Wednesday.
However, two pairs each in women’s and mixed doubles have been given the seedings.
The Hangzhou Asian Games bronze medallist pair of Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee and Yashaswini Ghorpade and Diya Chitale are seeded sixth & seventh, respectively.
In mixed doubles, Manush Shah and Diya are seeded five while Harmeet Desai and Yashaswini are seventh.
In addition to this line-up, World No. 4 Tomokazu Harimoto of Japan and Hina Hayata, World No. 5 from Japan, will headline the men’s and women’s singles.
