FIFA Women’s Champions Cup: Format, slots, dates and everything you need to know

FIFA will launch the Women’s Champions Cup, the first global club competition in women’s football, annually from 2026 onwards.

The FIFA Women’s Champions Cup is a new annual global club competition set to kick off in 2026. It will involve the six winners of the confederation club competitions, who will compete for this new global title in the years when the FIFA Women’s Club World Cup does not take place.

The six winners of the confederation club competitions will participate in the tournament.

Preliminary stage format: The preliminary stage will consist of the following rounds:

– Round 1: The AFC champion will host the OFC champion.

– Round 2: The winner of Round 1 will visit the CAF champion.

– Semifinals: The winner of Round 2 will progress to the semifinals to face the UEFA champion, while the Concacaf champion will play the CONMEBOL champion.

– Final Four phase: The final stage will comprise the semifinals, a third-place play-off, and the final.

The inaugural edition of the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup will be held in 2026.
