Gujarat Giants: Beth Mooney (wk), Harleen Deol, Ashleigh Gardner (capt), Dayalan Hemalatha, Deandra Dottin, Kashvee Gautam, Phoebe Litchfield, Bharti Fulmali, Tanuja Kanwar, Meghna Singh, Priya Mishra

Gardner: Feels like a good surface and the potential of dew played a part in her decision (to bowl). The Giants are unchanged, fielding the same side which won against UP Warriorz.

Lanning: Looks a really good batting track, and that if teams can put up a good score, they have done well too. Titas Sadhu comes in for Charani.

GG wins the toss, opts to bowl.

It’s pitch no. 5 today, the same one GG won on against homeside against UP Warriorz.

Dimensions – skewed square boundaries 59m and 50m. 65m hit straight down.

Some grass covering but there are patchy areas. Spinners might extract some turn and there are runs on offer.

Dew likely later in the game.

“I was certainly not aspiring to become captain while starting my career,” Ashleigh Gardner admitted, as she nears a decade of playing the sport professionally. “If that opportunity ever came up, I’d go with it, and it’s a fantastic challenge,” she told Sportstar, six matches into leading the Giants.

GG had finished last in both previous WPL seasons, but 2025 brought a turnaround. With three wins so far, the Gardner-led side ended its four-point slump and sits second in the standings.
