Mbappe gets the ball from Bellingham and as he tries to set up Vinicius on the far post, Vallecano makes a crucial block.
Tchouameni draws the defenders towards him and then delivers a through ball for Vinicius, who runs into the Vallecano box. Though he fails to get a shot on target, the goal, if it happened, would not have counted as the Brazilian was off-side.
Vallecano switches play from right to left and as Tchouameni tries to get the ball, Gumbau fouls him with a harsh challenge to get into the book.
Real Madrid, which started in a 4-3-3 shape, looks to have shifted to a 4-4-2 one as it tries to put more firepower past the hour mark, looking to widen the lead and get level on points with leader Barcelona.

Madrid gets the ball rolling and goes for goal right away, with Rodrygo, Bellingham and Mbappe combining. But the ball goes out play for a goal kick, putting the attack to bed.

Vallecano is finding it very difficult to break into the Madrid box and tries a lofted cross which is caught comfortably by Lunin as he gets the ball back into play.
Vinicius runs down the left flank and then cuts to his right, makes a step-over, shift to his right then left and then shoots past the ‘keeper to double the lead.
Embarba gets the ball in front of the box and takes a shot from distance. Lunin does well to make a good save, keeping his side’s slender lead intact.
Vinicius threads in a through ball for Mbappe, who marauds into the final third with the ball as his marker follows him in the box. Mbappe drops his shoulder to his right and the shoots with his right foot into the net.
Vallecano attacks on the counter and they get the ball into the final third. Ratiu takes the shot, which is on target, forcing Lunin to make a good save and them Gumbau takes a shot on target that is blocked by Asencio.
Vinicius gets the ball from Mbappe along the left but he is surrounded by three markers, forcing him to get the ball back.
Vallecano gets a corner kick. But the final ball, to Embarba is final stolen by the Madrid players as they try to go for another counterattack.
The front three of Real Madrid have been the usual suspects so far, creating all sorts of problems for the visitors, but their defence, with some help from the woodwork, has kept the score locked at 0-0.

This was the best chance of the game so far.
