Real Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano – Why did players observe a minute’s silence before the La Liga match?
A minute’s silence was observed by players before the La Liga match between Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano on Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid.
The Carlo Ancelotti-helmed side comes into this fixture as the third placed side on the points table while Vallecano finds itself placed in seventh.
The Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano players observed a minute’s silence before their La Liga match in memory of Barcelona’s team doctor, who passed way last night.
On Saturday, the La Liga clash between Barcelona vs Osasuna was postponed because of the passing of Barca’s first-team doctor Carles Minarro Garcia.
“FC Barcelona is deeply saddened to announce the passing of first-team doctor Carles Miñarro García this evening For this reason, the match between FC Barcelona and CA Osasuna has been postponed to a later date,” the Catalan club said in a statement.
“The FC Barcelona Board of Directors and all staff extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.”
