IPL 2025: Full list of Delhi Capitals captains since inaugural season; captaincy record, stats, win-loss ratio
Delhi Capitals named Axar Patel as its full-time skipper for the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after letting go of Rishabh Pant, who led the franchise last year.
Axar, the 13th player to lead the Capitals in the league, had captained the team in one match, against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, last year.

The trophy has eluded the Delhi outfit, despite leaders such as Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and David Warner trying their best. Shreyas Iyer came closest to winning silverware for the Capitals when he led them to the title clash in 2020 against Mumbai Indians.
