IPL 2025: Dwayne Bravo understands what it takes to succeed, says Kolkata Knight Riders coach Chandrakant Pandit

Kolkata Knight Riders coach Chandrakant Pandit feels new mentor Dwayne Bravo adds value to the team, which is hoping to defend its title in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.

Pandit, who worked with Gautam Gambhir in 2024 and saw KKR claim its third crown, welcomed Bravo warmly.

“He is a legend. Adds value to the team and is a big asset for KKR. He understands what it takes to succeed. There are many things to learn from him,” said Pandit, in his appreciation for his Caribbean colleague, during the Knights Unplugged 2.0 event here on Wednesday.

Pandit liked the energy in the KKR dressing room. “With new guys coming in, the atmosphere is healthy,” he said, adding “The players are respected here. The players and coaches get the freedom to make their decisions.”

Terming Knight Riders as a hugely respected franchise across the world, Bravo said he would like to see the team defend its title. “I will add the champions’ mentality” and help the players “believe in winning.”

New KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane underlined his belief in keeping things simple. “Everyone is on the same page, we have a good team and it will be a great season,” said Rahane.
