Chikitu video song feat. Rajinikanth’s statement about alcohol out now

Coolie headlined by Superstar Rajinikanth is a Tamil language action thriller that released in theaters on August 14, 2025. Currently on week 4 of theatrical run, Coolie written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is all set for an OTT premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 11, 2025 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.

Ahead of Coolie‘s OTT release, Sun Pictures has unveiled the full video of the Anirudh Ravichander composed Chikitu song from the movie. Chikitu is set in the backdrop of Deva Mansion, a men’s hostel run by a former coolie currently-in-hiding, Deva. While Chikitu starts off with the strict warden letting loose with the hostel boys, a pivotal moment reiterating Deva’s strict nature is showcased in the song, when he kicks a tope (a massive sized cooking pot) full of stashed alcohol to the ground.

This is followed by ‘Deva’ Rajinikanth uttering the dialogue, “God strikes from within (yourself), but alcohol keeps striking everyday (when consumed)”. Deva’s onscreen sentiment about alcohol reflects Rajinikanth’s offscreen advice about alcohol consumption. In July 2023, Rajinikanth famously shared during the Jailer audio launch,

Coolie also stars Shruthi Haasan, Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna, Kanna Ravi, Soubin Shahir, Rachita Ram, Upendra, Reba Monica John, Monisha Blessy, Charle, Kaali Venkat, Junior MGR, and Aamir Khan, Pooja Hegde, Shobana in special appearances. The film has Girish Gangadharan for cinematography, Philomin Raj for edits, and Sandy for choreography.

Chikitu has lyrics by rapper Arivu, and vocals by T Rajhendherr, Anirudh Ravichander, and Arivu.
