CSK signs Dewald Brevis for Rs 2.2 crore in IPL 2025

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has secured the services of South African batter Dewald Brevis for the remainder of IPL 2025, replacing the injured Gurjapneet Singh. Brevis, 21, has been a rising star in franchise cricket, impressing in leagues like the IPL, CPL, MLC, and SA20. In the 2023 SA20 season, he was a key performer, finishing as the sixth-highest run-scorer with 291 runs at an explosive strike rate of 184.17, helping MI Cape Town win its first title.

Brevis has played 81 T20 matches, scoring 1,787 runs, with a highest score of 162, showcasing his ability to dominate the shortest format. He made his T20I debut for South Africa in 2023 and has featured in two matches. Previously with Mumbai Indians (MI), Brevis played 10 IPL matches.

CSK has signed him for Rs 2.2 Crore, and his fearless, boundary-hitting style is sure to add an exciting dimension to the Men in Yellow’s batting lineup. With four first-class centuries already under his belt, Brevis is ready to bring fireworks to the IPL if given the chance to debut for CSK.
