Manchester United injury update — Amad Diallo close to return to training: Amorim

Manchester United has received a boost for the remainder of its 2024-25 campaign, with a positive injury update on injured winger Amad Diallo.

Amad is gearing up to rejoin first-team training next week, United’s manager Ruben Amorim said. The ankle injury, which was initially feared would keep him out for the season, is healing up ahead of schedule.

“The boss says Amad Diallo and Matthijs de Ligt are close to making their returns from injury,” the club said on Instagram.

The 22-year-old winger has been absent since early February, when he picked up an ankle problem in training ahead of a Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Amad had been a bright spark for the Red Devils in an otherwise disappointing campaign, with nine goals and seven assists in all competitions.

Ruben Amorim’s side is currently reeling 14th on the table and have advanced to the semifinal of Europa League.
