Kamboj returns. A couple of runs off the first ball due to an overthrow from Dube. OUT! Top edge on the pull and Dhoni takes it to seal CSK’s commanding win.

Driven aerially over covers by Kishore for a single. Arshad swipes across the line and misses and the ball almost takes his off-stump. OUT! Bowled him! This is straighter, and beats Arshad’s attempted hoick across the line and crashes into the stumps. 

Mohammed Siraj is the last man in. Noor pitches one too far across on off-side and called wide.

Pathirana. Outside edge for Kishore and he collects a single at deep third. SIX! Stand and deliver from Arshad. He launches this over long-off standing still in his crease. SIX! Length ball on off and picked up over deep midwicket for a maximum. Short, and called wide for height as this sails way past Arshad’s head. Three dot balls to end the over. Pathirana keeps it short on all three occasions. 

Noor is back after the break. OUT! Tewatia steps out slightly and slashes this straight to the extra-cover fielder. 

R. Sai Kishore comes in. A single for him after a couple of dots.

Deepak Hooda comes into the attack. FOUR! Tewatia unfurls the reverse-sweep and hits the ball over point to find the boundary. Hooda is looking to cramp Arshad for room but ends up bowling a wide down leg-side. SIX! This is tossed up on middle and pummelled over deep midwicket by Arshad for half a dozen. 

Pathirana again. Coetzee swings across the line and misses. FOUR! Pure timing. Delicately pushed through through covers by Coetzee for his first boundary. OUT! Off-stump goes cartwheeling and Coetzee has to walk back. This was short-of-a-length and the ball moved into the batter a bit after pitching, beating the hack across the line from Coetzee and uprooting the off-stump. 

Arshad Khan is in next. Guided to point, where Brevis thinks he has reason to believe that was a catch. Replay shows that was a bump ball.

Noor comes back for his second over. SIX! Slog swept from wide outside off by Rashid for a massive maximum over deep midwicket. Hundred up for GT in 12.1 overs.

OUT! Straight up in the air and Rashid falls. 

Gerald Coetzee comes in next. He is off the mark with a single.

Matheesha Pathirana into the attack. Hard length, angling across and Tewatia’s waft outside off misses the ball. Tucked away through square-leg by Tewatia for a couple. On the pads and clipped through square-leg for two more. Chopped in front of point by Tewatia for a quick single. WIDE! Short and wide and called a wide ball by the umpire. FOUR! Short and pulled away convincingly to the deep midwicket boundary by Rashid. Pulled away again to deep midwicket by Rashid, but just a single this time. 

Jadeja comes back. OUT! He strikes first ball of the new spell. Thick outside edge for Shahrukh and Pathirana pouches it at short-third after juggling. 

Rahul Tewatia is the new man in. OUT! Sudharsan cuts and is caught at backward point. Two wickets in the over for Jadeja. 

Rashid Khan comes in next to bat. A couple of dot balls to end the over.

Short from Dube. Whacked away by Sudharsan. A misfield at deep square gifts GT a four. Cover drive now from Sudharsan. Superb timing as it runs away for another four. Shahrukh Khan continues his aggressive touch. Slams Dube over long off for a six. 

Noor Ahmad gets his first over of the day. Two singles to start the over. Width from Noor. Sudharsan thumps it through covers for a four. Noor closes out the over by beating Shahrukh Khan. Time for a strategic timeout. 

Shivam Dube gets a crack with the ball. Another surprise move from Dhoni here. Couple of singles to start the over with. Dube gives a leg-side wide and it evades Dhoni. FOUR!! Shahrukh Khan adds a six with a slog. Titans need more of this. 

Jadeja with the seventh over of the innings. Sudharsan gathers another four. Short from Jadeja. Cut over point for a four by the GT opener. Better length from Jadeja for the rest of the over. 

Clever from Sudharsan. Guides Khaleel between point and third man for a four with a deft touch. Khaleel angles one in. Strikes Sudharsan on the pad. Only the bowler appeals. Nothing from the umpire. No review from CSK either. 

Anshul Kamboj gets a second over inside the PowerPlay. Holds new batter Sherfane Rutherford down to a couple of dot ball. Sticks to hard length and soon forces a miscue from Rutherford. Mhatre makes a good diving catch at mid on. CSK in control here.

Anshul Kamboj introduced. Straighter one to start with. Gill pushes it to mid on. Gill takes the initiative by charging down the ground and lofting Kamboj past the sight screen for a six. 

Kamboj keeps the ball away from the stumps. Outside edge from Gill and gobbled up at first slip.

Khaleel Ahmed starts by drifting into Sudharsan’s pads. Clipped away with disdain for a four. Gets off the strike with a quick single to mid on. Khaleel offers Gill width. Eased through covers for a four. 

Ravindra Jadeja to bowl the first over for CSK. Surprise move from Dhoni. Sudharsan gets off the mark with a single to deep fine. Gill follows suit with another single. Hooda puts in a full-length dive to deny Sudharsan a four. 

The record for the highest successful run chase in the league belongs to Punjab Kings which chased down 262 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders during the 2024 season.

If GT manages to win today, it will be the third-highest successful chase in IPL history. 

Prasidh comes around the wicket to Jadeja. Slips in a full toss and Jadeja heaves it away for just a single. Low full toss next ball and just another single as Brevis can only whip it as far as deep midwicket. Short, into the body and pulled to fine-leg by Jadeja for another single. Just three singles off the first three balls of the final over.

Dot ball! Brevis shuffles across wide outside off, looks to scoop it behind but is cramped for room. SIX! Short, and this is pulled away to deep midwicket by Brevis. A bit of an error in length and Brevis needs no invitation to pounce on it.

OUT! Straight up in the air and Buttler settles under it comfortably even as the ball threatens to swirl away. Wicket to end the innings and Brevis is dismissed. 

Dewald Brevis c Jos Buttler b Prasidh Krishna 57 (23b 4×4 5×6)

Siraj bowls out. SIX! Innocuous delivery outside off and Brevis slices it over long-off. SIX! Consecutive maximums and Brevis blasts this full delivery on middle and leg over long-on. FOUR! Slashed hard by Brevis and the ball flies off a thick outside edge and to the third-man boundary. Single at long-on for Brevis and be brings up his fifty off 19 balls. Twenty runs off the penultimate over and a forgettable day with the ball for Siraj, who ends with 4-0-47-0.

Arshad comes back after a very expensive first over. SIX! Jadeja finally gets going. Too full and lifted over mid-off by Jadeja and it clears the fence with ease. FOUR! Reverse scoop from Brevis and that’s an outrageous shot to find a boundary. Thumped by Brevis to long-off for a single and 200 runs up for CSK in 17.5 overs.

This is too wide outside off and ‘wide ball’ called by the umpire. 

Coetzee replaces Prasidh. Jadeja takes a quick single off the first ball and crawls to 8 off 10 balls. SIX! In the slot and Brevis pounces on it, launching it over long-off for a maximum. FOUR! Drifted down leg-side and Brevis helps it on its way to the boundary. A miscued pull to deep midwicket from Jadeja, and just a single for him. Three singles to end the over. 

Rashid bowls out. SIX! Tossed up again and blasted down the ground by Brevis for a maximum. A short delivery now, and Rashid is lucky that Brevis has only pulled it for a single at deep square-leg. Ten runs from the over and Rashid ends with 1/42 from four overs. 

Prasidh comes back and starts off with a sharp bouncer. Keeps it on a hard length the next couple of balls, keeping Brevis and Jadeja on a leash. Back of a length again and Jadeja can only guide it straight to the point fielder. Just two runs off the first four balls of the over. 

FOUR! Thick outside edge as Jadeja looks to cut it away and lucky runs for the left-hander as the ball races away to the third-man fence. Still, just five runs from the over as Prasidh continues his brilliant spell. 

Rashid continues. SIX! Conway steps out and pumps this over long-off for a maximum. Conway gets to his fifty off 34 balls. OUT! And he is clean bowled next ball. The left-hander goes for the sweep but misses, only to see his stumps shattered. 

Ravindra Jadeja comes in next.

Shahrukh Khan comes into the attack, to take on the two left-handers. SIX! Short, and pulled over deep midwicket for a maximum by Dube. OUT! Six and out! Dube hammers this full delivery on leg-stump but it is straight to the fielder at long-on. 

FOUR! Full toss and Dewald Brevis is off the mark with a boundary down the ground. 150 up for CSK in exactly 13 overs. How much can they get from here?

Rashid back into the attack. SIX! Conway clears his front leg and pummels this over deep midwicket for a maximum. FOUR! Too full, outside off, and sliced over covers by Conway to the boundary. Another expensive over from Rashid, 14 runs from it, and the Afghan looks frustrated. 

Coetzee comes back for his second over. FOUR! Full and straight and lifted over the bowler by Conway and all the way to the boundary. Cut away to deep point by Conway for a couple more. 

Sai Kishore drops it short and Urvil is ready for it. Pummels it with a pull over deep mid wicket. SIX!!

Urvil wants more. He tries to go against the turn. Can only slice it high. Gill makes good ground to complete a good catch.

Shivam Dube is the new batter for CSK and he gets going with a six down the ground.

Rashid Khan into the attack. Urvil looks to take him on. Nearly gets himself caught at long on. Fuller one from Rashid again. This time he nails the punch down ground. FOUR!!

Gill turns to Sai Kishore as he looks to stem the run flow. Conway slides one to deep square to gain a double. Width now from the left-arm spinner. Carved through covers for a single. Goes wide to Urvil, who lofts him over extra cover for a four. 

Gerald Coetzee introduced. Lands one full against Conway. Punched through covers for a four. Urvil adds another boundary with a swivel pull. Not the cleanest stroke. But it is four anyway for CSK. Short again from Coetzee. Pulled again by Urvil for another four. 

Prasidh Krishna continues. Beats Urvil’s outside edge with an away swinger. Urvil nudges one to deep third for a single. On the pads now from Prasidh. Flicked away for a four by Conway. Again leg side-is from Prasidh. Pushed away for a four by Conway. 

Urvil Patel is the new batter for CSK. Siraj gets his third over on the trot. He starts with a sharp bouncer against Urvil. The CSK batter is troubled by Siraj’s direct, pacy approach. Three dots before Siraj gives away a wide. Urvil breaks the shackles with a clip off his pads, which screams past the square leg fence for a six. 

Prasidh Krishna into the attack. Shahrukh Khan puts in a good diving stop at point to prevent a four. Bouncer from Prasidh. Beats Mhatre. Prasidh slides in a slower ball. Mhatre fails to connect and Siraj pouches a skier.

Arshad Khan from the other end for Titans. Back of a length from the left-arm pacer. Mhatre pummels it over long on for a six. Fuller now. Mhatre goes after it too. Clears the ropes with ease. ANOTHER SIX!! Mhatre now whips out a cover drive. Not the best timing, but it still runs away for a four. Mhatre isn’t done. Clears his front foot against a fuller one from Arshad and clatters it over mid wicket for a four. Arshad goes short now and Mhatre pulls it over fine leg fence for a six.
