Mustafizur Rahman ruled out of Pakistan T20I series with hand injury

Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman will miss the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan after sustaining a hand injury during the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Mustafizur, who plays for Delhi Capitals, was struck on his left hand while attempting a caught-and-bowled off Australian and Punjab Kings batter Josh Inglis in Saturday’s match.

Khaled Ahmed has been named his replacement. Mustafizur is the third player to withdraw from the squad for the series, which starts on May 28 in Lahore.

Nahid Rana had already pulled out for personal reasons, while Soumya Sarkar was ruled out with a back injury and replaced by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Khaled joins the squad after an impressive domestic season, highlighted by a 20-wicket haul in the recent Bangladesh Premier League.

Bangladesh will face Pakistan in three T20Is in Lahore on May 28, 30, and June 1. The team will be aiming to rebound after a 2-1 T20I series loss to the UAE in Sharjah.
