How can Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr face Mohun Bagan in AFC Champions League?

Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr could play alongside Indian Super League club Mohun Bagan Super Giant in the next season of the AFC Champions League Two, the second-tier of Asia continental tournament.

The Mariners have already qualified for the tournament by winning the ISL Shield, while Al Nassr could join the Kolkata club in the competition if it fails to finish in the top two of Saudi Pro League 2024-25.

Ronaldo’s team is currently third in the league standings. As per the 2025-26 slot allocation for the AFC competitions, three teams from the Saudi Pro League can book a spot in the AFC Champions League Elite. These are the league’s top two teams and Al-Ahli, which has won the 2024-25 edition of Asia’s premier continental tournament.

This means, if Al-Nassr finishes third, it would enter AFC Champions League Two.

Mohun Bagan is a direct entrant in the group stage from west region, while Al Nassr is also from the same region.
