Liverpool agrees deal to sign England defender Guehi – reports

Liverpool has agreed a deal to sign England defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace on transfer deadline day, British media reported on Monday.

The reports suggested that the London-based club has accepted an offer of 35 million pounds from the Premier League champion for its star defender.

The deal, if completed, is expected to take Liverpool’s spending in the current transfer window over 430 million pounds with the club also likely to complete a move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

Guehi seemingly rounded out his Palace career in fine fashion, scoring a goal in its 3-0 win away at Aston Villa. The defender also played a crucial role in the team’s FA Cup and Community Shield triumphs.

Guehi will be the second centre-back to join the Merseyside club after the signing of Giovanni Leoni from Parma for around 27 million pounds.
