IPL, NBA representatives to headline Sportstar’s PlayCom 2025 Summit in Delhi
The Hindu Group’s Sportstar and global consulting firm KPMG India are set to co-host the PlayCom 2025: Business of Sports Summit on September 12 and 13 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The two-day exercise seeks to build on Sportstar’s five-decade experience of telling the stories that matter in sport, shaping the conversation around sport as an economic and social driver.
The Summit, brought to you by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, Tamil Nadu Champions Foundation and the Government of Punjab, will feature a host of distinguished speakers from the sporting and business spheres.
Eminent names include Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Indian Olympic Association president P.T. Usha, Co-Founder of IITI Sports Institute Daniel Pinto Coma, Microsoft-backed sports innovations expert Iris Cordoba, Cricviz’s Head of Insight Ben Jones, former IOC and Twitter Partnerships head Aneesh Madani among others.
Giants of the Indian sports industry like IPL chairman Arun Dhumal and Rajah Chaudhry, Head of Strategy, Asia Pac & Country Head, India, at National Basketball Association (NBA), also feature in the conference.
PlayCom 2025 also features an innovation expo, which seeks to provide a platform for Indian-born innovations and entrepreneurs in the sporting arena — from manufacturers and suppliers to analytical entities and sporting franchises.
“The Indian sports industry contributes a mere 0.63 percent of our GDP. For a nation of our scale, passion, and potential, that figure should only be the beginning. This Summit is about unlocking that growth story by bringing together leaders from government, business, and global sport to reimagine how India can transform itself into one of the world’s great sporting economies,” Ayon Sengupta, Editor of Sportstar, said about the event.
