The Women’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025 will be held in Gonshu, China, from September 5 to 14, with eight teams competing for spots at the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup.
India will look to put the disappointment of FIH Pro League relegation behind it and qualify for the quadrennial event.
Stitching up a leaky defence — across 16 Pro League matches, India conceded more than 100 penalty corners and let in 43 goals — is of utmost importance for India.
If defence is a concern, attack is equally so. Drag-flicker Deepika finished as India’s top scorer with seven goals, six from penalty corners. And with the Haryana forward ruled out of the tournament with an injury, India will need someone to step up.
China, Chinese Taipei, Korea, Malaysia
India, Japan, Thailand, Singapore
Each team will face the other three in its group once, with the top two qualifying for the Super 4s and the bottom two moving into the classification round.
In the Super 4s, each team plays three matches, and the standings at the end decide the line-up for the final.
The live streaming of the Women’s Asia Cup 2025 will be available on watch.hockey on an on-demand basis. The tournament will not be broadcast live in India.
