IND vs AUS, 2nd Test: Why are Australian players wearing black armbands in Adelaide?

The Australia players were wearing black armbands on their shirt sleeves during the pink-ball Test match against India in Adelaide on Friday.

The side is marking the 10-year death anniversary of cricketer Phillip Hughes, who passed away during a Sheffield Shield match after getting struck on the head.

Though the former Australia international passed away on November 27, 2014, Cricket Australia decided to commemorate his passing with the national team during the day-night Test.

A documentary on the life of opening batter was also displayed at the stadium before the start of play.

Games in the Sheffield Shield last week also saw players wear black armbands to mark the passing of the New South Wales player.
