Retro: Suriya 44 title teaser out marking Christmas 2024!
It has now been officially announced that the Karthik Subbaraj film Suriya 44 is titled Retro. A title teaser of Retro revealing Suriya as a Southern Tamil Nadu native, with gang mafia as a family business has been unveiled marking Christmas day. Pooja Hegde plays Suriya’s love interest in Retro. The duo’s chemistry, and the overall Retro vibe is reminiscent of Karthik Subbaraj’s direct OTT release Mahaan (2022).
Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, and Karthik Subbaraj’s Stone Bench Films has jointly produced Retro, which also stars Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Sujith Shankar, Shriya Saran (dance cameo) among others.
Retro has Santhosh Narayanan for music, Shreyaas Krishna for cinematography, and Shafique Mohamed Ali for edits. The movie’s release date is April 10, 2025 (Thursday), and its post theatrical OTT rights are with the Netflix streaming platform.
