BBL: Daniel Sams stretchered off after nasty collision with Bancroft

Australia all-rounder Daniel Sams was taken off the field on a medi-cart after being involved in a nasty on-field collision with Sydney Thunder teammate Cameron Bancroft during a Big Bash League match in Perth on Friday.

The duo collided after converging in the midwicket region to take a catch. While Sams gathered the ball while running backwards, Bancroft came in from the other end and dropped the catch.

The two lay immobile for a while after the incident. Bancroft eventually left the field with a bloody nose while Sams needed urgent medical attention and had to be placed on a medicab before being taken off.

The incident occured in the 16th over of Perth Scorchers’ innings and led to a brief halt in play. The match resumed soon after as Scorchers went on to score 177 for four in 20 overs.
