WATCH: Coach Andy Murray looks on as Djokovic gears up ahead of Australian Open 2025

Novak Djokovic was seen sending down a flurry of shots even as his newly appointed coach Andy Murray watched over his ward on Tuesday in Melbourne.

Djokovic, coming off a quarterfinal defeat against American Reilly Opelka at the Brisbane International, had named Murray as his coach in November last year. Their partnership is set to run at least till the end of the upcoming Australian Open.

This is Murray’s first coaching stint since his retirement. He has won three major trophies and two Olympic singles gold medals and finished 2016 atop the ATP rankings. He retired as a player after the Paris Summer Games in August.

Djokovic and Murray started playing each other as juniors and have played each other 36 times as professionals, with Djokovic holding a 25-11 advantage. That includes an 11-8 lead head-to-head in finals, and 8-2 at Grand Slam tournaments.

The Australian Open main-draw tournament begins on January 12. Djokovic will be chasing a record-breaking 25th Major title at Melbourne Park.
